FOOTBALL enthusiast William received valuable insights on managing challenging situations from his former boss, Neil Warnock.

Warnock, who has managed 16 different clubs over a 42-year career, met the 43-year-old at Mousehole AFC in Cornwall.

Neil shared a photo of himself with the famous royal, humorously captioning it: “Always happy to oblige when a fan requests a selfie.”

Football fan William played a significant role in facilitating improvements for a local team by getting the road fixed.

For years, the club had expressed concerns about its narrow, pothole-ridden lane, which caused congestion and damage to vehicles.

A consortium of local businesses stepped in to help.

Simon Taylor, Project Lead for Mousehole AFC, stated: “Within a week, I found myself in a Teams meeting with Martin Riley, who had been invited by HRH to discuss how we could address the road issues.”

“Two weeks later, Martin visited the club. After experiencing the lane firsthand, he quickly recognized that a complete repair was not feasible.”

“With planning permission already obtained for an alternative access point, we shifted our focus to the possibility of constructing a brand-new road.”

“After countless meetings, both on-site and virtual, we have assembled an incredible consortium of local and national companies that have committed their time, resources, and expertise to make this dream a reality.”

The construction is being carried out at no cost to the club, thanks to donations from several firms, including private companies such as Tarmac.

The Prince of Wales and local resident Warnock, 76, also joined footballers on the pitch following the unveiling of the new road.

Warnock playfully teased Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese manager who was under pressure due to a poor start to the season.

The club had fallen to 14th place in the Premier League table, with only two league victories from six matches.

This disappointing performance had raised doubts about the former manager, with several names suggested as potential replacements.

However, Warnock humorously expressed his interest in the position.
