SUBSTITUTES may have to wait even longer to get on the pitch in the Premier League this season.

When can a substitute come on if a player does not leave the pitch in ten seconds in Premier League?
Players who have been substituted now have 10 seconds to leave the pitch at the nearest point.
If they fail to beat the count, the player coming on cannot enter the field until the first stoppage after one minute has elapsed.
This means teams could be forced to play with 10 players for several minutes.

“I now know to get off the pitch a lot quicker!”
