The Kebbi State Police Command has warned residents against organizing or participating in any form of protest regarding the recent abduction of students from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar Kotarkoshi, mentioned that the command had received credible intelligence suggesting that certain groups and non-governmental organizations were preparing to hold demonstrations in response to the incident.

Kotarkoshi stated that the security situation in the state remains delicate and inappropriate for protests or public gatherings, cautioning that such actions could heighten tensions and disrupt ongoing rescue efforts.

“While the police recognize the public's concern regarding the abduction, the command considers any planned protests to be misguided and counterproductive,” he explained.

He clarified that demonstrations at this moment could hinder the efforts of security agencies working to ensure the safe return of the abducted students.

He reiterated the police command’s dedication to protecting lives and property, urging residents to assist security agencies by reporting any suspicious movements, individuals, or activities.
