Police Service Commission warns against fraudsters, says it has not started recruitment

The Police Service Commission, PSC, on Sunday warned members of the public against fraudsters, saying it has not started any recruitment for police officers for the year 2025.

Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesman, in a statement said reports currently circulating on social media indicating that the recruitment has started and inviting applications is misleading and mischievous.

“The Commission has not commenced this exercise and obviously will follow established procedures and processes when it is ready. It hereby advises prospective candidates to ignore the publications and wait for official communication,” the statement said

The Commission also frowned at what it described as the ,”consistent attempt to fraudulently confuse the public each time there are preparations for recruitment”, just as it called on relevant security agencies to go after the fraudsters and protect the integrity of the police recruitment process.

The statement said the Commission would continue to ensure that the exercise is transparent and in line with established rules and regulations.
