Police rescue 11 kidnapped victims in Katsina

The Kano state Police command in Katsina has averted the abduction of 11 individuals along the Danmusa–Mara Dangeza road in Danmusa Local Government area.

The spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, made this known in a statement.

Accordibg to the statement, the incident happened on Sunday night at about 10:30p.m. when a joint patrol team of security operatives was on routine surveillance in the area.

“While on patrol, the officers came across armed bandits sneaking away with abducted victims who were kidnapped from different locations in the state. In the process of rescuing the victims, a gun fight ensued, and we were able to rescue all eleven victims while the armed bandits ran away”; the statement revealed.

The statement further revealed that investigations to arrest the fleeing suspects.

He called on the public to report suspected activity to the nearest police station or contact the command’s emergency telephone numbers.
