Police Disburse N33.8 Million to Support Families of Fallen Officers in Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has distributed cheques totaling N33,816,610.97 to 50 families of police officers who lost their lives while on duty.

The cheque presentation ceremony took place on Thursday at the Command Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, led by Commissioner of Police Bello Sani, as part of the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes.

Sani explained that this initiative, introduced by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, aims to assist the families of officers who have died in the line of duty and to uplift the morale of current personnel.

He characterized the initiative as a testament to the IGP’s compassion and commitment to the welfare of officers and their families, noting that it has brought joy and relief to numerous grieving households.

“The Inspector-General’s generosity continues to enhance morale, improve performance, and elevate the spirits of our officers throughout the nation,” the Commissioner remarked, while praying for divine guidance and protection for the police chief.

Sani also encouraged the beneficiaries to invest the funds judiciously for the long-term benefit of their dependents.

On behalf of the recipients, Sonnen Simeon Mome expressed appreciation to the IGP for the support, stating that it reflects the Force's commitment to honoring the sacrifices of the fallen heroes.

“This gesture indicates that the Nigeria Police Force still remembers the sacrifices made by our loved ones,” he affirmed, assuring that the funds would be utilized effectively.
