A TOP pop star has revealed she was desperate to appear on a huge TV gameshow but was turned down for being “too famous”.

PinkPantheress made the confession in front of a packed-out crowd during a live performance in Manchester.

Speaking to fans between songs, the star said: “You know , the TV show? It’s my favourite trivia show.

“I wanted to be on the show, and I made it to the bit just before they put you on TV.

“So I was in Manchester and I was ready to go on TV, to go on Pointless. Someone comes in and says, ‘Hold on, we know who you are!’

“It was proper Pointless, not a Celebrity version, so I said, ‘What do you mean?’

“And he says, ‘You are too famous to go on Pointless!’ and I’m like, ‘Babe, let me on this TV show now! I will give the money to charity, just let me on this show! I want to meet Alexander Armstrong, I love him.’”

Pointless is the long-running BBC quiz hosted by Alexander Armstrong, in which contestants try to give the correct answer that the fewest people surveyed also gave.

Despite being turned down for the hit show, the quiz-loving pop star has previously appeared on alongside celebs including , and TV chef

, whose real name is Victoria Walker, is at the peak of her music career following an incredibly successful couple of years.

The musician has enjoyed global success following the release of her acclaimed mixtape Fancy That and its follow-up remix album.

It spawned viral hits including Tonight, Illegal and Stateside.

The remix of Stateside with became a US Top 40 hit and is currently among the 100 most-streamed songs in the world.

The star won the BRIT Award for Producer of the Year in 2026, making history as both the first woman and youngest person to win the prize.
