Piers Morgan Reacts Furiously to Morgan Rogers' Bold Claim After Chelsea's British Record £117 Million Transfer

PIERS MORGAN has emphatically hit back at Morgan Rogers’ claims that Chelsea are the biggest club in London after he completed his £117 million move.

After making the move from on Tuesday, : “I’m so excited. For me, are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid.”

Arsenal were thought to be the frontrunners for his signature this summer until Chelsea swiftly concluded a deal.

His comments come after just lifted their first Premier League title in 22 years and they reached the final.

Chelsea finished 10th last season after working their way through three different managers.

Morgan, always keen to share his opinion, hit back at Rogers’ claims on X.

He tweeted: “They’re not even the biggest in West London… finished higher in the League last season.”

Morgan is not wrong – Brentford did finish ninth last season.

However, The Bees do not have multiple league and European titles, either.

Rogers’ comments are interesting, though. Arsenal are on top right now and have become a real force on the continent for the past couple of years, but what makes a club the biggest?

Following ‘s relegation, London boasts six clubs from the capital in the Premier League next season: Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, , and Tottenham.

Due to league titles and domestic cup wins – certainly in the Premier League era – Arsenal and Chelsea immediately jump off the page as the London heavyweights.

So how do they compare?

In terms of major honours, Arsenal are slightly ahead of Chelsea domestically, but many fans would point to the fact that the Blues have two Champions League trophies in their cabinet – and two triumphs – to the Gunners’ zero.

Nobody has won the more than Arsenal and they have eight more league titles than Chelsea for a total of 32 honours to Chelsea’s 28.

Chelsea have also spent far, far more money than Arsenal, especially since BlueCo came into power at .

They have a net spend of around £745m over the past five years and even Tottenham (£691m) have spent more than Arsenal’s £545m.

But, that doesn’t always equate to value. According to transfermarkt, ‘s men are worth around £43m more.

Who has the biggest fanbase? It’s not all about having fans in London, of course (Man United probably have the most there!).

The Global Wealth Index estimates that Chelsea has around 202 million fans worldwide, some 24 million more than what Arsenal are purported to have.

Then you’ve got their stadiums. Arsenal moved out of Highbury back in 2007 and headed towards the Emirates Stadium, a state-of-the-art ground with over 60,000 capacity.

Stamford Bridge, although it has undergone several renovations over the years, holds just over 40,000. Arsenal may win that battle, but in the Earls Court area.
