PIERS Morgan is recovering in hospital from a hip replacement after tripping on a small step at a London restaurant.
The broadcaster, 60, posted the update to his X account on Sunday afternoon alongside a picture of himself in a hospital bed.

In the post, he explained that he “tripped on a small step” while dining out in London and joked the New Year was “off to a cracking start”.
Piers went on to explain that he had fractured his femur in the incident to such an extent that he needed a new hip.
He is now recovering in hospital and says he will have to use crutches for six weeks while he couldn’t travel long-haul for 12 weeks.
At the end of his post he joked: “I blame Donald Trump”.
He also uploaded a picture of himself recovering in a hospital bed with a thumbs up.
On Instagram, Piers uploaded the same post with an additional image of an X-Ray scan showing the fracture.
