PETER WRIGHT joked he’ll play on stage with a ZIMMER FRAME in a bid to reach 50 titles.

The double world champ has already lifted 48 PDC trophies during his glittering career, including eight major crowns.

Wright believes he can still push on to reach a half-century of titles on the tour.

He said: “I’m taking each game as it comes and enjoying it. If I win, I win if I don’t that’s it.

“I have won so many titles. Yes, I want to get to 50 . That would be nice.

“Like I said earlier to my fellow dart friends if I get to 55 titles before I retire, I would be happy.”

Wright admits he is embracing every moment as he enters the twilight of his career.

He added: “I’m trying to enjoy myself up there and enjoy the fans. A few fans have moved across to the two Lukes.

“Hopefully I can say, hey, Wrighty can still play and keep them happy.

“I’ll be coming on with a Zimmer frame maybe. Obviously, when the middle bit of the hair goes.

“I’m not dancing on stage as much because I am old. I am 56 next week.

“I still love playing and I love the professional players around me.

“They are nice to me. They will all go: ‘Oh come on, you can do better.’

“When really, they don’t want you to do better! I understand them. It’s nice for them to look after you like I do with them.

“I will tell them you have done this wrong throwing. The amount of advice I have given dart players in the past, and they have gone on to do great things.”

Wright maintains that he still has plenty left in the tank as he shuts down retirement talk.

He continued: “It’s all down to the boss. She five years ago but I am still here.

“I haven’t earned enough money to retire yet. So, I need to pull my socks up.”

Wright reached the fifth round of the , showing signs of returning to his best with wins over Darius Labanauskas and .
