Special Adviser on Public Communications to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Phrank Shaibu, has rejected the assertions made by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, that a leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Peter Obi, misled his supporters.

Shaibu also refuted Keyamo’s allegation that Obi joined the ADC with the intention of becoming a running mate rather than aiming for the presidency.

In a post on X, Shaibu emphasized that the ADC is not Atiku’s “property,” contrary to Keyamo's claims.

Shaibu stated: “Dear @fkeyamo, your outburst is based on speculation presented as fact.

“First, @PeterObi did not defect. He did not sneak away nor deceive anyone. He has been a part of the coalition from the beginning. His public declaration is a confirmation—not a betrayal.

“Second, labeling the ADC coalition as the “property” of @atiku reflects either ignorance or intentional mischief. Coalitions are formed through agreements, not ownership. No candidate has been forced upon anyone.

“Third, your obsession with a vice-presidential narrative reveals your insecurities, not Obi’s aspirations. You assert knowledge of agreements that you cannot substantiate and decisions that do not exist. That is not analysis—it is projection, or perhaps political theatrics.

“Fourth, spare Nigerians the lecture on “moral high ground.” What truly disturbs you is that the opposition is organizing effectively and strategically, while your faction resorts to noise, insults, and intimidation.

“Fifth, stop demeaning Nigerians. People are facing hunger, insecurity, and hardship. They are aware of their circumstances—and that reality is what intimidates you.

“What is clear is this: a coalition committed to ousting a failing administration through the electoral process. This inevitability explains your outburst.

“By 2027, Nigerians will make their voices heard—not due to your insults or threats, but because of their lived experiences. The campaign has commenced.

“However, shouting is not a strategy. And arrogance does not equate to leadership. Nigeria is not a monarchy. Power is not inherited. And 2027 is not yours by right.”
