Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has urged the residents of the state and all Nigerians to embrace unity, patience, and ongoing support as the country welcomes the New Year 2026.

He cautioned that Bauchi State can no longer serve as a refuge for criminals and bandits.
In a New Year message delivered by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor expressed gratitude to God for guiding Bauchi State and the nation through the challenges of 2025, referring to the transition into 2026 as an act of divine grace.

Governor Mohammed acknowledged that despite the ongoing economic, political, and social challenges, the people of Bauchi State have remained resilient, steadfast, and prayerful.

He praised residents for their patience and perseverance during these tough economic times, assuring them that his administration will continue to provide palliative support while striving for long-term economic solutions.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fully implementing the outcomes of the recent Bauchi State Investment and Economic Summit, describing it as a vital strategy for accelerating economic growth and social development.

He also assured residents that as his government approaches the end of its second and final term, it remains dedicated to delivering essential infrastructural and social projects throughout the state.

Governor Mohammed emphasized the importance of consultation, stakeholder engagement, and community participation as fundamental principles of his administration. He reaffirmed the right of citizens to hold their leaders accountable and called for collective responsibility and mutual care.

Regarding security, the governor warned that Bauchi State would not become a sanctuary for criminal elements. He pledged ongoing support for security agencies and urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activities.

As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, he appealed to political parties, aspirants, and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and in accordance with the Electoral Act, warning that the government would enforce the law against any actions that could disrupt public peace.

The governor called for continued prayers and cooperation from traditional rulers, religious leaders, stakeholders, and politicians across party lines to ensure lasting peace, unity, and prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
