The National Pension Commission has announced a fresh programme called Revolution 2.0 to increase retirees’ and pensioners’ pay (dignity) and expand pension services to all Nigerians, including the informal sector.
This was disclosed on Monday in a statement by PenCom Director General, Ms Omolola Oloworaran.
She outlined that the programme is aimed at enabling dignity for retirees through health insurance and a minimum pension floor and optimising investment performance while safeguarding contributors’ funds to deliver sustainable long-term returns.
“Pension Revolution 2.0 is the most significant advancement since 2004, bold in ambition, yet evolutionary in practice. It ushers in a new era of dignity for retirees, inclusion for every Nigerian worker, and resilience for our national economy”, she stated.
This comes as PenCom recently announced the Revised Guidelines on Appointment to Board and Senior Management and the Revised Guidelines on Corporate Governance.
