The 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewale Adebayo, has criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) regarding the ongoing conflict between rival factions of the party on Tuesday.

In an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, which was monitored by DAILY POST, Adebayo stated that the PDP exhibited a significant level of lawlessness while in power.

According to DAILY POST, tensions escalated when rival factions, led by Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on one side, faced off against FCT Minister Nyesom Wike on the other, amidst the current leadership crisis.

In response, Adebayo remarked, “Regarding the chaos that unfolded at the PDP headquarters yesterday, no one should be surprised.

“When they were in power, they were a highly lawless party engaged in widespread rigging and manipulation. Now that they are out of power, they are turning against one another.

“What concerns me is the involvement of the police, as the police are meant to serve all of us, while the PDP serves only its members. I am worried about whether the police are being used to favor one side over the other.”
