Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt have expressed concerns regarding the club’s backroom staff.
They believe the team is losing its traditional identity as more former Manchester City staff members join the ranks.

Both legends concur that Ruben Amorim's tenure as head coach is limited.
Butt remarked : “It’s going to happen sooner or later; I can’t envision it turning around.”
They also noted that United has made several poor signings in recent years, but their primary concern is the increasing influence of staff with backgrounds at City.
Scholes elaborated : “You’ve got Jason Wilcox, Omar Berrada, and others who previously worked at City.
“I don’t believe that should be happening.
“City has enjoyed success for a long time, so it’s understandable to want some of that, but it’s not what a Manchester United person would desire. It’s likely not what the fans want either.”
Scholes further stated that the club is losing touch with its core values: “There’s no one there who truly understands what it means to be a Manchester United player.
“He is the only one who knows what it’s like to be part of the club. You don’t always have to be the best player, but you must possess the character to represent United.”

This trend is also evident within the academy. The latest addition, Stephen Torpey, worked alongside Wilcox at City before joining United’s academy.
He succeeded Nick Cox, who departed to take a role at .
Butt commented on the situation: “It’s surprising how many former City staff have joined Manchester United.
“Such a thing wouldn’t occur at other major clubs like Real Madrid and .”
Both Scholes and Butt believe the club should prioritize recruiting coaches with strong connections to United, highlighting Kieran McKenna, now the Ipswich manager, as a positive example.
Butt stated: “Currently, there’s really no one from United’s history involved except for Darren Fletcher.”
The team is set to play later today, hoping to build on their victory before the break.
