Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has expressed his condolences to the Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing the Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, following the passing of his son, Peter Moro, and his grandson, Divine Abba Moro Jnr.

This was included in a statement released on Tuesday in Makurdi by Mr. Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor.

Alia characterized the loss of the lawmaker’s sons within a 24-hour period as heartbreaking and devastating, stating, “Anyone who values humanity will be moved by this double tragedy.”

He encouraged the lawmaker, his family, the people of Benue South, and the entire state to accept this occurrence as the will of God, who both gives and takes away life.

The governor prayed for God to grant the departed sons eternal peace.

Peter, who had recently completed his studies in Turkey, reportedly returned to Nigeria to commence his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program. Tragically, he lost his life in a severe motor vehicle accident along the Mararaba route in Nasarawa State, just 24 hours after the burial of his father’s grandson.
