The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun 2026 governorship election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has proclaimed himself the leading candidate.
Oyebamiji further stated that he does not view anyone as his competitor as he approaches the Osun 2026 governorship election.
He made these remarks during the Ansar-Ud-Deen annual prayer gathering in Ikire on Saturday.
While addressing party members and supporters at the event, Oyebamiji expressed that there is a strong sense of confidence within the APC regarding the election outcome.
He emphasized that the party is unified in support of his candidacy, declaring, “We firmly believe that by the special grace of God, on August 8, 2026, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will become the governor of Osun State.”
Oyebamiji also hinted at substantial electoral backing from his local government area, asserting that it would play a crucial role in the election.
He stated, “I assure you that you will be astonished by the support that will come from this local government during the election.”
Reaffirming his confidence ahead of the election, Oyebamiji expressed certainty about his victory, despite the presence of other candidates.
“I am very optimistic about winning the governorship election. I have mentioned several times in various forums that I, Bola Oyebamiji, do not have a competitor,” he said.
“Bola Oyebamiji will win the governorship election on August 8, 2026,” he added.
While maintaining that he is the candidate to beat, Oyebamiji noted that the next governor of Osun State would come from the Osun West Senatorial District, asserting that he fits that profile.
The former Osun State Commissioner for Finance and Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) stated that he plans to refrain from engaging in political attacks as the campaign progresses.
“I prefer not to attack others. I have always been focused, and I want to concentrate on my goal, which is winning the governorship election next year,” he said.
Regarding party unity, Oyebamiji mentioned that during a recent stakeholders’ meeting led by APC elder statesman Chief Bisi Akande, party leaders agreed to collaborate and support his candidacy.
He noted, “The agreement was intended to strengthen the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.”
In his sermon, Chief Missioner of Ansar-Ud-Deen, Ikire land, Badmus Monsuru Adekunle, remarked that Oyebamiji’s nomination as the APC candidate is a divine affirmation and reflects the goodwill he enjoys throughout the state.
He also attributed the anticipated victory to the people of Osun State, particularly those who believe in progressive governance founded on justice, equity, and development.
