WOKE theatre bosses have slapped trigger warnings on a classic opera, saying nudity and screaming may upset audiences.

Visitors to English National Opera were told: “This production contains graphic depictions of domestic violence, sexual assault, murder, scenes of a sexual nature and nudity, alcohol consumption, and the use of drugs and electronic cigarettes, strong language, sudden loud screams.”
The 1875 opera by Georges Bizet is about a soldier’s infatuation and descent into obsession for free- spirited gypsy .
Opera nut George Sinclair told The Sun: “I nearly dropped my binoculars when I read this guff from the English National Opera.
“Carmen is a formidable and passionate piece of art. It was not written for an audience to be wrapped in cotton wool.
“The magical work has been performed perfectly well since it was written in 1875 – that’s 150 years that audiences have coped without being molly-coddled. This nonsense really has to stop.
“And if child actors are too scared to be on stage and cope with the plot I suggest they’ll be going into the wrong profession – they should focus on careers as a librarian or accountant instead.”
Even child cast members in the 1970s-set production are wrapped in cotton wool.
Theatre-goers, who pay up to £190 a ticket, are told by the ENO: “We have taken all steps to ensure the children are not exposed to scenes that may include inappropriate content.”
