And a pal in the same t-shirt with the added swag of an hat and St George’s Cross flag draped around his shoulders.
Committed Tomlinson even risked angering his concert goers last week when he paused a gig in Charlotte, USA, to check on our score with Mexico.
Again he was in his crimson red version of the away kit and he had his phone perched on the stage so he could keep an eye on the knockout clash.
Having the worldwide tour land in America at the same time as the World Cup does not look like a touch of luck for the songwriter.
