Residents of Ire-Akari in Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State have voiced their frustration over what they describe as the declining condition of major roads and public facilities in their community.
According to the residents, the state government has repeatedly ignored their struggles despite years of hardship.
A local resident named Abiodun revealed that the Oba-Akoko road connecting Idoani has remained impassable, noting that there are no operational health facilities in the area.
While expressing disappointment that government officials only visit the community during election campaigns, Abiodun mentioned that the government's presence in the community is virtually nonexistent.

In addition, Iyabo Adebayo emphasized, βThe only two roads leading to the community are in extremely poor condition. We have consistently voted for the APC.β
βWe are urging the Ondo State government to revive the Magistrate Court, the Customary Court, and our health centers. Our roads are completely unmanageable. It feels like we are in hell. We are also unaware of what our representatives are doing. For over ten years, Ire-Akari has been without electricity,β she added.
A community leader, Oluwafemi Fadahunsi, stated that from Afo to Idogun, Idoani, and Imeri, the current government has provided no assistance regarding roads, electricity, water, or quality schools.
βWe are merely surviving. Our monarchs have taken initiative and met with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa twice in Akure. However, it has always resulted in promises without any follow-up actions,β he concluded.
