Each contestant must battle it out during each service, with one person being eliminated at the end of the episode.

But in tonight’s instalment, the heat gets too much for front of house team member Helina, who begins to feel unwell.

As she complains about feeling light-headed, her colleague Seren tells her to sit down and drink some water.

Helina lies back on a chair as a crew member checks her blood pressure, with somebody else fanning her with paper.

The front of house manager approaches her and asks: “Hi my love, are you okay?”

Helina admits: “I feel like I can’t breathe,” as she’s told: “I think I want to send you home today, we’ve got a busy service and I’d rather you take care of your health. I can run this.”

Speaking directly to camera, Helina expresses: “I was not feeling well going into service but I just ignored it. I really wanted to be there for Jayon.”

She’s then seen being escorted out of the restaurant after being sent home to recuperate.

The dramatic moment comes after a left all of the chefs and diners stranded outside during last night’s instalment.

Chef Tom Lodge was determined to show that he wasn’t going down without a fight and offered to lead the service.

But mishap after mishap seemed to occur, until it reached a complete boiling point.

Jean-Christophe was losing his nerve sending back plates of food with fingerprints, missed design details, and even one with a metal tube still left inside where pastry was being shaped.

As more went wrong the kitchen staff became increasingly flustered, and that’s when things took even more of a turn for the worse.

One of the kitchen’s pans caught fire, and in an attempt to stay calm chef Maja Pardew blew the flames out.

Smoke billowed around the room, causing the restaurant’s smoke alarms to start wailing.

The servers looked visibly embarrassed, with one turning to the others saying: “I’m so embarrassed I can barely even look at the guests.”

An angry Jean-Christophe snapped that everyone needed to leave the building, as the chefs filed out the door and the servers prompted the guests to follow suit.

As the budding chefs left the restaurant in shame Jean-Christophe expressed how he could “barely stand” to even look at them.

The moment was made to feel even more embarrassing as one of the guest tables was filled by a large bridal party celebrating the bride.

She voiced how completely confused she was, after already not enjoying most of the food served to the table.

Tom was ultimately sent home, while the servers later on joked among themselves that a “moment of silence” was needed for the service.

The Heat airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2, with episodes dropping each morning on ITVX
