Elderly Man Dies in Fall at Industrial Estate, Safety Watchdog Initiates Investigation

A pensioner has passed away after falling from a height at an industrial estate, prompting an urgent investigation by safety authorities.

This morning, emergency services rushed to the scene in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, following reports that a man had fallen from a significant height.

Hertfordshire Police arrived at Wallace Way, close to the town's industrial estate, along with the East of England Ambulance Service just before 8 a.m.

Despite the paramedics' best efforts, a man in his 70s sadly died at the scene.

The area was secured for several hours while investigations were conducted.

The Hazardous Area Response Team and the East Anglian Air Ambulance were also present.

Authorities have confirmed that the Health and Safety Executive has been notified about the incident.
