The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cautioned Corps members about the adverse use of social media.
The Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, issued this warning while addressing the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the NYSC Delta State Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku.
Nafiu stated that any negative social media posts by a Corps member would lead to sanctions. He encouraged them to create content that would positively represent both the Scheme and Nigeria’s image.
He also advised against unauthorized travels, emphasizing: “Adhere to simple instructions, be obedient, complete your biometrics, and participate in your Community Development Service.”
“Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities, and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment.”
Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, presented a camp situation report to the Director General, indicating that 2,101 Corps members—comprising 944 males and 1,157 females—were deployed to the state in the new batch.
He further noted that camp activities have been proceeding smoothly, with full participation from all officials and Corps members, who have demonstrated a high level of discipline.
