Nasarawa United technical adviser, Salisu Yusuf has expressed his happiness after the club cemented their top-flight status for another season.

The Solid Miners avoid the drop following Sunday’s hard-earned 3-2 victory over nine-time champions Enyimba at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.

Nasarawa United moved to ninth position on the log with 52 points from 37 games.

Shina Kumater, Anas Yusuf and Idris Ajiya were on target for the hosts in the game.

Enyimba scored through Ekenne Awazie and Utake Emmanuel’s own goal.

“Wow, this is a great result for us, especially when you play against a big team like Enyimba who were eyeing a continental ticket off us here, even though we were more than desirous to cement our status in the Premier League next season,”;; Yusuf told the club’s official media.

“Today’s game was what would determine our stay in the league because our last game of the season will be against another strong opposition away from home.”;;

Nasarawa United will face Rivers United in their final game of the season.
