NPFL: Ogunbote gives reason for Shooting Stars’ loss to Abia Warriors

Published on April 28, 2025 at 03:19 PM

Shooting Stars technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has attributed his team's defeat against Abia Warriors to defensive lapses.

Ogunbote admitted that his team failed to live up to expectations in the game.

Adejoh Ojonugwa, Anthony Ijioma and Sunday Megwo were on target for Abia Warriors.

Alex Aghahowa scored the lone goal for Shooting Stars.

Shooting Stars are now winless in their last five league outings.

“For us it wasn’t a good game, we conceded some careless goals due to careless errors,” Ogunbote said in a post-match interview.

“Sometimes in football it comes your way and sometimes it doesn't. We started playing well in the second half after switching off earlier.

“That's football ,we go back and see how we can get better.”

Shooting Stars dropped to 11th position after the defeat.
