Ikorodu City have expressed gratitude to coach Nurudeen Aweroro for his selfless service to the club.

Aweroro left Ikorodu City by mutual consent, the club announced.

The young tactician has been appointed as the new head coach of Shooting Stars, taking over from Gbenga Ogunbote, who was sacked by the club’s management this week.

“Ikorodu City thank Aweroro for his services thus far and wishes him well in the future,” Ikorodu City wrote in a statement on X.

Aweroro guided Ikorodu City to a fourth-place finish in their debut campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, last season.

He took charge of the Oga Boys midway through the season following the sacking of Bright Ozegbage.
