Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has reacted to his side’s home win over Kun Khalifat FC, DAILY POST reports.
The Port Harcourt club reclaimed top spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, following a thrilling 4-2 victory over Kun Khalifat at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Iyowuna Douglas bagged a brace for Rivers United, with Aniekeme Okon, and Handsome Surveyor scoring the other goals.
Sunday Adehi netted twice for the away side.
Finidi said his team nearly paid the price for not converting the chances they created earlier in the game.
“In the opening minutes of the game, we had a couple of chances that we didn’t take. You know when you have chances like this you have to score,” Finidi said after the game.
“I can’t do the job myself, we often talk about scoring goals. You have to create chances for you to score, and when you create chances without scoring, it becomes difficult.”
