The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has fined Enyimba N5 million for several breaches during their matchday 21 encounter with Barau FC.

The encounter, played at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, ended in a barren draw.

According to the NPFL, Enyimba failed to provide adequate security during the game, which led to the loss of valuable items belonging to match officials.

Supporters also encroached into restricted areas during the game and held match officials hostage.

As part of the sanctions, Enyimba will play their next three home matches behind closed doors.

The Aba club has 48 hours from the date of the notice to appeal the sanctions.
