Published on May 07, 2025 at 12:18 PM

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has said it will sanction coaches who boycott post-match interviews.

Chairman of the NPFL, Gbenga Elegbeleye made the pronouncement during an interaction with match commissioners.

Elegbeleye said coaches who fail to adhere strictly to the directive will be fined.

“It is mandatory for match commissioners to ensure that coaches and players appear for post match interviews with the media,”; Elegbeleye stated.

“We expect reports of compliance or not from you as any defaulting coach will be sanctioned.

“Any coach who fails to attend the post match interview with the media stands to be fined and such fine must be paid before the next game or such coach won’t be allowed on the bench.”;

Matchday 36 games will be played in the NPFL across 10 venues on Wednesday (today).
