Shooting Stars head coach Nurudeen Aweroro was relieved to see his side pick their first win in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, this season.

The Oluyole Warriors scraped past Kun Khalifat FC 2-1 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga, Ibadan on Sunday.

Shooting Stars recorded two draws and two defeats from their four previous outings.

Captain Ghali Falke, and Sodiq Ibrahim netted for the Oluyole Warriors, while Henry Ezeonye was on target for the visitors.

Aweroro declared that the win will boost his side’s confidence ahead of subsequent games.

“Today’s win will give the boys the much-needed confidence and motivation because we need such a win to boost our confidence, which we believe will help us to do well. We will continue to psyche ourselves up,” Aweroro said after the game.

The former champions will travel to Ozoro for their next game against Warri Wolves.
