Akwa Ibom State government has dissolved the entire management board of all the teams owned by the state.

The affected clubs are former President Federation Cup champions, Akwa United, Nigeria National League sides, Dakkada FC and Ibom Youth FC, as well as Nigeria Women Football League side, Ibom Angels.

The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Elder Paul Bassey, announced the dissolution of the management teams during a meeting with the representatives of the four clubs in Uyo.

Elder Bassey urged the club chairmen and secretaries of the four clubs to submit their handover notes to the ministry in two weeks’ time.

DAILY POST reports that Akwa United were relegated to the second-tier league at the end of the last season.

Ibom Youth, Dakkada FC, and Ibom Angels failed to qualify for the playoffs respectively.
