Abia Warriors have commenced preparations for the 2025/26 season, DAILY POST reports.
The Umuahia-based club finished third in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, last season and will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.
It marks the first time Abia Warriors will feature in continental competition.
Imama Amapakabo’s side will begin their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup from the preliminary round, hence the early start to their preparations.
The first phase of the training will involve existing players, while new signings are expected to join the squad at a later stage.
The winner of the President Federation Cup final between Kwara United and Abakaliki FC will also participate in the competition.
Nigeria is yet to record success in the CAF Confederation Cup.
