MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE continues to hurt Tottenham after deciding against joining them over the summer.

His latest punch is one right to the gut after Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Burnley 4-1 at the City Ground.

The result leaves Forest three points clear of Spurs in the bottom three with five games to go after Brighton’s late equaliser on Saturday evening.

It threatened to go the other way for Forest as they struggled to break through Burnley and offered little optimism.

When Zian Flemming scored in added time at the end of the first half, it was a goal celebrated more in North London than the sparsely populated away end.

He got on the end of a swift counter, firing in with his left foot for a ninth Premier League goal of the season.

Flemming had come closest for the visitors before that when his free kick had to be tipped round the corner by Matz Sels.

It was otherwise a low-key opening 45 that gave Tottenham cause for optimism and Forest reason to panic.

But captain Gibbs-White had other ideas.

He finished calmly after Nikola Milenkovic’s header was only sent backwards by James Ward-Prowse and into his path to level the scores.

The celebration, running to get the ball from the goal, said everything about how Vitor Pereira’s men were feeling.

It was Sels in action next, though, as he got down low to his right to deny Lyle Foster’s volley at the back post.

Skipper Gibbs-White was there to save the day again, though, slamming in a volley of his own after Omari Hutchinson’s run and stand up.

He rounded off a sensational hat-trick with 15 minutes to go, sealing the crucial points.

His third might be the best of the lot, directing a header from behind the penalty spot beyond Martin Dubravka.

By the time Gibbs-White was subbed off before stoppage time, it was a day of jubilation for Forest.

Igor Jesus rounded off a comprehensive second half with a fourth just moments before the full-time whistle.
