Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang has once again denied reports that he is among the governors of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are planning to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In recent weeks, there have been widespread insinuations that Mutfwang is among governors who have perfected plans to defect to the ruling party following the defections on Delta State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Pastor Umo Enoh.
However, in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service in Wednesday, Muftwang denied the reports and insisted that he has never contemplated leaving the PDP and nothing will ever make him abandon the party that made him the state governor.
While responding to the question of his imminent defection, Muftawang said there was no truth in the claims.
He also stated that the APC must have seen something good in him for them to want him to join them.
”;A friend of mine sent me (the newspaper reports) this morning and I said, ”;There is no prohibition on a hunter pursuing wild animals.
“I am sure they see something interesting in us, that is why they want us to join their party. Just as you read it in the newspaper, I also read it,”; the governor said.
