The Chairman of the Northwest Governors Forum, and Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, led a powerful entourage of regional leaders to a closed-door meeting with Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting focused on strategies to strengthen coordinated security operations across the Northwest, a region ravaged by incessant attacks by bandits and increased kidnapping, particularly in parts of Katsina.
Governor Radda, was accompanied by Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal; Deputy Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir; and Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala.
The meeting took place following a recent successful military engagement in the Northwest, where several bandit hideouts have been destroyed and key kingpins neutralized by troops.
Although the details of the meeting were not made public, sources say the discussions focused on enhancing surveillance, strengthening rural security and improving collaboration among states and security agencies.
