Rangers defender Callum Knowlden suffered the injury in the 27th minute after experiencing “quite a bad landing.”
The game was halted at Rangers’ Thames Road to allow him to receive medical attention, but the decision was ultimately made to abandon the match.
A statement from Concord Rangers stated: “Unfortunately, due to the injury sustained by Callum Knowlden, today’s match against Lowestoft Town has been abandoned.
“We wish Callum a swift recovery and are with him every step of the way.”
It remains unclear what type of injury Knowlden sustained from the fall.
This unfortunate incident occurred just hours after the defender was named the club’s player of the month.
The Essex club’s opponents were quick to express their support for the injured player.
They posted on their social media: “From everyone associated with Lowestoft Town FC, our best wishes go to the player and we wish him a speedy recovery, along with everyone connected with Concord Rangers.”
Rangers, currently sitting in 7th place in the league table, were hoping to elevate themselves into the playoff positions with a victory over 13th-placed Lowestoft.
