Brand, who has been charged with rape and sexual assaults relating to four women, was friends with for decades.
A source said: “Anaïs realised that her dad’s close links to Brand and all the stuff they’d done together wasn’t a good look. She’s very PR savvy.
“There was a discussion and Noel agreed cutting ties was best. Anaïs, Noel and the rest of the family are horrified at and had no idea what was going on.”;
Noel became friends with Brand, 49, after attending his stand-up show in 2005.
He was best man at Brand’s 2010 wedding to . Brand returned the favour for Noel’s nuptials with Sara MacDonald in 2011.
A Dispatches programme in 2023 first told of claims against Brand.
He was charged this month and which date from 1999 to 2005.
In a video posted to X he said: “What I never was, was a rapist. I’ve never engaged in non-consensual activity.”;
He added: “I’m now going to have the opportunity to defend these charges in and I’m incredibly grateful for that.”; Noel’s team declined to comment.
