The New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has re-elected the members of its National Working Committee (NWC) to oversee the party's affairs in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The delegates of the party unanimously voted to retain Dr. Ajuji Ahmed as the National Chairman, along with other members of the party's executive team.
This decision was reached during the party’s National Convention held in Abuja on Saturday, which was attended by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, national leader of the party Engr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and other prominent figures within the party.
The choice to re-elect the Ajuji-led NWC was made at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held the previous day.
In his address, the National Chairman, Ajuji, stated that the party is committed to pursuing a strong, united, progressive, equitable, prosperous, and respectful democratic nation.
“The NNPP’s flag must rise higher and higher in every corner of Nigeria to assure citizens that a new, better, greater, and prosperous Nigeria is achievable,” he declared.
“NNPP has been repositioned, restructured, and fortified as a key player in the nation’s democratic process. The eyes of the nation are upon our great party to lead the way toward sustainable democracy and development in Nigeria.
“Our country deserves a fresh start, and citizens are entitled to a new deal that only NNPP can provide. To this end, we have successfully concluded Congresses at the Ward, Local Government, State, and Zonal levels, where new leaders have emerged.”
He called upon the leaders who emerged from the party’s state, zonal, local government, and ward conventions to validate the confidence and trust that party members have placed in them.
“NNPP is large enough to welcome millions of fellow compatriots who seek and deserve a new Nigeria where peace and prosperity are assured,” he added.
“Citizens look to NNPP to pave the way forward for our beloved nation. We must meet their expectations.”
