This development follows his impressive performance, where he scored two goals in Nigeria’s 4-0 triumph over Mozambique during the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Morocco on Monday night.
Starting the match with 32 international goals, the 27-year-old forward increased his tally during the game in Morocco, bringing his total to 34 goals, now just three short of Yekini’s record of 37.
