Nigerians have been consuming less petrol from Dangote Refinery on a daily basis, according to industrial data released by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) for November 2025.
The NMDPRA's Fact Sheet for November indicated that out of the total 52.9 million litres of petrol consumed daily in Nigeria, only 19.5 million litres were supplied by Dangote Refinery.
According to the NMDPRA, while Dangote Refinery aimed to supply 35 million litres of petrol per day in November, it managed to evacuate 23.52 million litres during the month, an increase from 17.77 million litres in October.
Despite a decline in the country’s daily consumption to 52.9 million litres in November from 56.7 million litres in October, the data revealed that Nigerians continue to depend significantly on imported fuel.
The regulator noted that imports accounted for 52.1 million litres per day of the total petrol consumption in November, rising from 27.6 million litres per day in October.
The data also showed that the overall petrol supply in Nigeria increased to 71.5 million litres per day in November, up from 46.0 million litres per day the previous month.
According to DAILY POST, the retail price of petrol ranged between N910 and N937 per litre in Abuja, as reported by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and other filling station outlets.
