WILLIAM OSULA is on the verge of a shock £30million move to Frankfurt – after scoring just TWO Premier League goals for Newcastle.

The Danish forward, who Aston Villa were also keen on, is now thrashing out personal terms for the surprise Bundesliga switch ahead.

The Under-21 international arrived at St. James’ Park for an initial £10m from Sheffield United just over a year ago.

He struggled to make much of an impact with the Magpies and failed to start a single top-flight game during his first season at the club.

Osula broke his duck for the Toon against Bromley in the FA Cup before finally getting off the mark in the Prem in the 3-0 win over Ipswich in April.

He then produced some sizzling form for his country at the U21 European Championship in June which caught the eye of several suitors.

SunSport understood that a potential season out on loan was on the cards to help further his development but Alexander Isak’s strike put a stop to that with boss Eddie Howe left short of attacking options.

Osula came off the bench to score against Liverpool last week but struggled on Saturday in the stalemate at Leeds after being handed his first Prem start for the club.

Newcastle are on the verge of completing a £55m move for Yoane Wissa after already snapping-up £69m club-record buy Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart.

Aston Villa were first to try and get Osula, however, complications regarding Uefa spending limits threw a spanner in those works.

That has now allowed Frankfurt, who are joint-top of the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich after a 100 per cent start to the campaign, to pounce.

They’ve agreed a £30m package with Newcastle, who are effectively TRIPLING their money on the ace, in a deal that also includes a buy-back option.
