The new Commissioner of Police for Kwara State, Adekimi Ojo, has assumed duty as the 44th commissioner in the state.

A seasoned law enforcement officer with a distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force, Adekimi has served meritoriously for over three decades, according to a statement by the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, in Ilorin on Friday.

“CP Adekimi brings his wealth of experience in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and strategic security management. His leadership style is expected to further strengthen security measures, enhance public safety, and foster improved community relations within the state,” the spokesperson added.

“The new commissioner has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities across different states in Nigeria, demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and proactive policing.”

Until his recent appointment, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations in the Kwara State Command, where he played a pivotal role in crime-fighting strategies and security coordination.

The new police commissioner assured the good people of Kwara State of his unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, combating crime, and fostering a safer environment for all.

He also called on residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the police by providing credible information that will aid in crime prevention and prompt response to security concerns.

“As Muslim faithful in Kwara State and across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, CP Adekimi extends his heartfelt felicitations, wishing all a joyous and peaceful celebration.”

He urged everyone to use this period to promote peace, unity, and mutual understanding while adhering to security advisories for a hitch-free festivity.

The command assured the public of adequate security arrangements to ensure a safe and secure environment before, during, and beyond the celebrations.
