NETFLIX has axed another four shows in a major cull that has left fans feeling devastated.
The streamer has culled the shows ahead of the 2025-26 season and two have failed to land final seasons â let’s have a look at them now.
The Recruit

The Recruit is an American spyadventuretelevision series that first launched in 2022.
It follows a CIA lawyer who becomes involved in massive international conflicts with dangerous parties after an asset tries to expose her relationship to the agency.
The show became a huge fan-favourite for Netflix viewers, and earned itself a respectable 80% Rotten Tomatoes score.
However, it has been cancelled and will not get a final season.
Territory

follows the succession battle within a powerful cattle ranching dynasty, on Marianne Station.
It is the largest cattle ranch in Australia and a billion-dollar empire led by the Lawson family.
When heir Daniel Lawson mysteriously passes away, patriarch Colin Lawson must pick a new successor.
At the same time, he’s also fighting off rival ranchers, lawless thieves, Indigenous peoples and billionaire miners.
All of whom are all trying to swoop in to get the land in their own clutches.
But sadly, the show has been cancelled by Netflix this year after just one season.
The Sandman

is an American fantasy drama television series based on the 1989-1996 DC comic book.
Morpheus, the personification of dreams and one of the seven Endless, is captured in an occult ritual in 1916.
After being held captive for 106 years, Dream escapes and sets out to restore order to his realm the Dreaming.
While it was renewed for a second season, it will not be renewed after two seasons.
The Empress

is a German historical drama television series based on the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
It stars in the title role, and as Emperor Franz Joseph and was released on Netflix in 2022.
It was Netflix’s second-most watched series worldwide for two weeks and the seventh most popular non-English series of 2022.
But it will not be renewed past its third season, which is upcoming.
This is sad news for fans but according to Mens Journal: “While Netflix boasts a wide array of original shows.
“The reality is that not all of them can survive at the same time.
“Leaving the stream service’s executives to make some tough decisions.”;
