The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) has announced that a total of 788,947 students have benefited from the student loan scheme, out of 1,193,228 applications received since the launch of the portal.

NELFund shared this information in data sheets published on its social media platforms on Sunday.

As reported, at least 3,367 new applications were submitted the previous day, and 262 tertiary institutions had received payments amounting to N82.34 billion for tuition fees as of November 12, 2025.

The agency further clarified that it has also disbursed N58.53 billion as maintenance allowances directly to students.

The total value of loans disbursed amounts to N140.88 billion.

In a separate weekly summary report covering the period from November 24 to 30, the agency stated that 35,773 applications were successfully completed during this time.

The weekly update confirmed that the total number of applications remains at 1,193,228 since the program's inception.

It also emphasized that 262 institutions and 788,947 students have benefited from both tuition and maintenance disbursements.
