A DIY enthusiast has revealed how she gave her bathroom increased privacy without having to break the bank
Now, not only does Sophie Hilditch’s bathroom look trendy, but her neighbours can’t see in too
The young woman, who is from the and is currently her with her Lawrence, took to to share her , leaving many totally stunned.
On a mission to add privacy to her space without losing the light, Sophie used the 6mm Reeded Window Film from Purlfrost, which cost her £50.
Sophie described the peel-and-stick as “easy to install.”
Not only this, but rather than on replacing the window, she described her hack as a “.”
Showing off her bathroom window prior to its , Sophie said: “Me and my husband always have the classic argument about aesthetics versus practicality – but I fear Lawrence might have a point in this case, because giving my front row seats to the shower performance wasn’t exactly on my mood board.”
Luckily, Sophie was able to find a “very ” solution, as she added: “We’re using this 6mm window film to give us some privacy back in our en suite.”
Demonstrating how to apply the , the continued: “You install it by cutting it to slightly bigger than the window pane, spraying down both the glass and the back of the film with a mix of water and – line up the film on the window and squeegee out the bubbles and excess water.
“Once all of the water is out, you then trim it neatly with a Stanley knife and a card – now I can’t lie, I did find the trimming down a little fiddly, but for £50 this is such an effective fix compared to replacing the whole window pane.”
Thrilled with her “quick” and “effective DIY win” which took a matter of minutes, Sophie proudly showed off the finished window.

But social media users were left totally divided by Sophie’s – while some thought it was a “great” solution, others weren’t so convinced.

However, at the same time, one user advised: “You still need a blind, these don’t work if you’re close or have the light on!”
A second chimed in: “I would double check how much it offers when it’s dark out and the light is on in the bathroom.”
