NAF hits terrorist enclaves, destroys logistics in Borno

Published on June 08, 2025 at 10:20 AM

The Nigerian Air Force has carried out successful air interdiction operations against terrorist enclaves in Talala and Ajigin, located in the Timbuktu Triangle of Borno State, neutralizing scores of fighters and destroying key logistics infrastructure.

This was contained in a post by a counter-insurgency and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, on Saturday on his official handle on X.

According to the post, the airstrikes were conducted on May 7, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai under the ongoing campaign codenamed Operation KALACHEN WUTA II.

The operation was launched based on credible intelligence and surveillance reports indicating that ISWAP terrorists were regrouping and stockpiling supplies for coordinated attacks.

“Our ISR platforms had earlier picked up significant terrorist activities at the Talala and Ajigin axes, indicating that the enemy was regrouping and storing logistics in preparation for coordinated attacks,”; the report quoted intelligence sources as saying.

“Following confirmation of the threat, the Air Component engaged the enclaves in a decisive strike. The precision-guided engagement resulted in the neutralisation of scores of terrorists and the destruction of numerous logistics assets, including makeshift structures, weapons, and mobility platforms,”; the source added.

The operation is said to have caused considerable disruption to the insurgents’ plans, with preliminary assessments indicating panic and disarray within ISWAP ranks.

Intelligence monitoring post-strike revealed confusion among surviving fighters and a setback in their tactical positioning.

The source further noted, “This operation sends a clear message: wherever the enemy attempts to find cover, we will find them, and we will strike with precision and resolve.”;
