Uche Azikiwe made this remark on Tuesday during an interview on Prime Time, a program on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST.

She referred to her marriage to the Pan-Africanist as part of God's plan, emphasizing that she considers herself a child of destiny for having been married to the first indigenous Governor-General of Nigeria.

“Zik was a selfless leader and an attentive listener. He had a passion for serving and always prioritized the well-being of Nigeria as a whole. He listened to everyone before making a decision.

“If he realized that his desires might cause issues for the people, he would choose to prioritize the people's interests to maintain peace.

“When I was unable to gain admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, due to a Mathematics deficiency in my WAEC results, I thought my husband would reach out to the Vice-Chancellor to help, but he didn’t. As a result, I had to wait another year.

“Due to his commitment to one Nigeria, some individuals from the Southeast viewed him as someone who was thinking beyond just the interests of the Igbo people, which was the last perception he wanted.
