A MUM who was mauled by a shark and lost her arm in the attack has revealed the split-second decision that saved her life.

, spent two weeks in a coma after being pulled out of the sea in “a pool of her own blood” at Coogee Beach in Australia.

In a tearful interview on TV show 60 minutes – set to air fully on Sunday – she recalled the horrifying encounter.

With tears running down her face, she said: “It sort of started opening its mouth, and I’m like, it’s going to get my face, it’s going to bite my face.

“I’m like, I’ve got to try and punch it. I’ve got to try and push it away or else it’s going to bite my head off”, she recounted in a promo clip for the show, released on Friday.

“And in that moment I thought ‘well, which limb am I willing to lose?’ I’m right-handed. So I decided, let’s do a left hook.”

Leah credits her surge in survival skills with her instinct as a mum to be there for her one-year-old daughter, August.

, she said she knew she had to fight or else her baby girl was “not going to have a mum”.

The brave mum told Nine Network’s 60 minutes that she punched the beast in the face – and the predator ripped off her arm.

“I’ll never forget its face – it was a monster,” she said.

“It was holding onto my leg and I just thought of [my daughter] August, and I thought, ‘she’s not going to have a mum’.

“‘I just thought, ‘I’ve got to fight it and do everything I can to be here’.”

The promo clip also played the chilling emergency call made after the horror attack.

“Hi, we’ve got a shark attack at Coogee Beach… There’s a lot of blood”, a woman’s voice can be heard saying.

Loved ones set up a GoFundMe for the mum and teacher – which raised a whopping £300,000 (Aus dollars 558,000).

The mum has been clawing back her normal life – and has described her recovery as “remarkable”.

Leah underwent several surgeries – including the amputation of her left arm.

Now, she has said: “I can finally see some light after all of this” and has said she is no longer accepting donations.
