The Taraba State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has continued to gain political ground as more members of opposition parties, particularly the All Progressives Congress, APC, switch allegiance.

In the latest development observed by DAILY POST, the APC Ward Chairman of Bilga Ward in Ibi Local Government Council, Yusuf Yuuf, has officially resigned his position and defected to the ADC.

Yuuf’s resignation letter, submitted on Monday, cited a deep personal and ideological disconnect with the current direction of the APC and the needs of his constituents.

“I was one of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress, and I have served diligently as a ward chairman.

However, I have come to terms with a difficult truth: there is a growing disconnect between my convictions, the realities I observe, and the actual needs of the people I represent,” he stated.

Describing his decision as one made after “deep thought and careful reflection,” Yuuf applauded the APC for the platform it provided him and expressed gratitude to supporters who stood by him during his time in the party.

A copy of his resignation letter, as reliably gathered by our reporter, has been forwarded to the APC Zonal Chairman for Taraba South.

Yuuf’s departure adds to a growing wave of defections from the APC to the ADC in Taraba State. His exit comes just weeks after former House of Representatives member for Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, also left the APC for the ADC.

Political analysts who spoke with DAILY POST Said the continued loss of key grassroots figures may further weaken the APC’s influence in Southern Taraba and the state at large ahead of future elections.
