The shocking video shows the blade-wielding thug smashing the shop doors as he tries to enter the ‘exit only’ side.

He can be seen kicking at the door before repeatedly hitting the blade against the glass but shortly gives up and walks away.

The man then starts waving the knife about at the front of the busy supermarket while other shoppers were in the area at the branch on Ferry Road in Edinburgh.

But the tooled-up thug was in for a shock after being confronted by two members of the public in the car park.

One man appears to try and hit the blade maniac with what appears to be a metal pole before running after him, while a second passer-by also gives chase.

Two police cars are spotted arriving on the scene as the two shoppers start to chase him out of the car park.

Shocked onlookers stopped to watch the shocking incident.

Locals took to social media to warn others to “stay away from the area”;;.

One resident said: “Guy with a knife on Morrisons Ferry Road. I hope no one is hurt. He ran towards the Village Hotel.”;;

Police Scotland and Morrisons have been approached for comment.
